Plants

7/29/22
I took some photos today and they turned out much better than the ones I shared previously so I am saving them here. After I took the photos I gave the lavendar a haircut and I hope it doesn't hurt the plant cause I just love it.

I've always had houseplants in my home. I enjoy having them and recently added two new ones to the rest. I really like these new upright ones. I'll add my Mother-in-laws Tongue, Lavender topiary, Jade Plant Pothos, Red Edge Dracena, Orchid, Pony Tail Palms, Peace Lily and any others later. But remember, I said I enjoy them, I never said I'm good with keeping them strong and healthy.

New Plants

Balfouriana Aralia (I just love the leaves on this one)

Olympia False Aralia

Mother-in-laws tongue, Lavender Topiary, Jade Plant and Peace Lilly my work sent when my step dad passed. I have added the others. The MIL tongue is doing better since repotting and has filled out nicely.

The Lavender Topiary looks much better since I repotted and trimmed the dead off the base. I still need to trim the long strands but giving it time to get stronger. I've never had luck with Jade plants but this one has outlasted all others so fingers crossed!
This poor Pothos on the right was in sad shape. I had it in a pot that didn't drain and nearly killed it overwatering it. I had huge areas of the stem with no foilage and every day a new yellow leaf from too much water. I realized the pot was not draining so I cut the bare stems back added holes for drainage and more soil to the top. It is slowly coming back, but the first photo is of the newly rooted starts from the trim and they are doing fantastic. I still have some bare stems in water and hoping the roots are strong enough soon to re-pot with the new growth.
My poor, poor leggy Dracena! I think this one is about 13 years old, but not certain on the age. I have a bigger pot to replant and will stake the stems and hope it has more, healthier babies. The Orchid was a give from my youngest daughter a few years ago and had the prettiest blue flowers when it was new. It has two new shoots so I'm hoping it blooms again soon.
Apparently I inserted the wrong plastic informational stick in this one when I repotted because it has a Neanthe Bella Palm marker in it, but I'm almost certain that is wrong. This appears to be a muliple trunk Pony Tail Palm. It is growing out of the pot so I'll need to re-pot very soon.
My beautiful Pony Tail Palm. She is very healthy and loves the light from the window. I've had this one quite a while and we have had ups and downs, but I think we finally reached an understanding. lol I got the bird houses shown from the thrift store a few weeks ago and need to get them painted. I like how they look in front of the plant stand.

The Peace Lily looks like it needs a little water, but it is doing well. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to cut the spent blooms off so I need to do a little research to find out. I noticed when the blooms turn brown they drop a powdery substance on the leaves that makes it look dirty.

And last but not least...my remaining stems from trimming the Pothos. They are rooting and getting baby leaves so I'll add them to the other new growth soon.
